Alien Mom sounds like a movie title, doesn't it? Actually, it's how I feel most of the time in a family of golf fanatics. Everyone under this roof is a golf nut....except me..... and the dog. Actually, even he would probably love golf if he was allowed on the course. When I say golf nut, I'm referring to constant talk about golf swings, equipment, and teachers, golf magazines on every surface including the kitchen table, end tables, nooks, beds, and stairs, and grass all over the car and house despite the fact that no shoes are allowed past the laundry room. Speaking of the car....my husband's car is not only full of golf bags and golf balls, but stinky socks and towels and I don't even know what...probably old food from the course deli. We now take my car on dates because it takes him a full five minutes to clear the multiple golf shoes and other junk from the passanger's side. Not to mention the awful locker smell of his car....ewwwww.
I just want to go on retreat....or maybe be transported to a family that actually likes some of the things I like: movies, reading, knitting, or quilting. Non smelly things that don't track grass into the house. Did I mention I have to wash at least 21 golf shirts a week? I know, I know....I should be glad that everyone is healthy, and I should be worrying about health care and whether there is enough funding for 'cash for clunkers'. I'm calling the retreat house to book a room.....

This is the Blog I Was Telling You All About Last Night
This is the blog I was talking about last night at the writer's club:

After enjoying the video of Father Guido Sarducci, go to the home page and on the left side you'll see other writer's links. We can do that, too, on our shared page on on our individual pages.
Enjoy!

Ciao Friends
Italians use one word for 'Hello" and "Good-bye"! Very efficient. I love 'Ciao' and I love 'Hola' which is Spanish for 'hi'. In fact, we say 'Hola' when caller id shows an immediate family member. Don't know why since I'm Italian/Irish and hubby is German, other than we just like the sound of it.
So, Ciao, friends and welcome. This site is a little experiment suggested by my writing group. I actually started a little site on Blogger years ago, but then life happened and I let it fall away. Laundry and carpool took over. You know how it goes.
So now I'm back and ready to get started! Summer is the best with it's laid back style, easy meals, and barely any schedule, so it's the best time to jump back in. Yes, I know the picture is from Paris, not Italy. I'll post Italy pictures later......Ciao.
